Cultural and Hiking Activities
Visit the Panama Canal often referred to as the 8th wonder of the world. At the Miraflores visitors center at the Miraflores Locks (entrance fees not included) learn about the past, present, and future of this engineering marvel. If a ship is passing through the locks, witness first hand how the locks work to raise and lower these massive ships. Afterward, we will stroll around the Casco Antiguo historical neighborhood which was built by the Spanish in the late 1600’s. We will have lunch at one of the many restaurants in the area (at your own expense). Includes transportation and wait time at the Canal and Casco Antiguo (does not include entrance fee to the Canal or lunch). Leaving Istmo at 8:30 return at 4:30.

El Valles is a small town with several tourist attractions located in the crater of an extinct volcano. Some of the attractions are the hikes, zip line, waterfalls, artisan/vegetable market, zoo, hot springs, butterfly farm, snake farm, horse rental, bike rental, as well as many restaurants. A 30-minute drive from Istmo.
We offer two package trips to El Valle:
- El Valle tour A (less strenuous)- visit the Chorro el macho waterfall, outdoor vegetable/artisans market, lunch (at your own expense), butterfly or orchid farm. includes transportation and guide (does not include entrance fees and lunch). Leaves after breakfast at 10:00 am, returns around 3 pm.
- El Valle tour B (more strenuous)- hike Cerro Gaital or the India Dormida, lunch (at your own expense), market. Includes transportation and guide (does not include entrance fees or lunch) Leave after breakfast at 10:00 am, return around 3 pm.
Price for either Tour A or B:
- $65/person if there are two or more people.
- $120 for an only one person.

Other Points of Intrest
Coronado– supermarkets, restaurants, and shopping. A 15-minute drive, private taxi $10, or 15 minute walk to the bus stop to catch a bus on the highway.
Santa Clara Beach- nice swimming beach frequently visited by tourists and locals., restaurants on the beach. 12 minutes by car driving away from Panama City.
Farallon Beach- nice swimming beach frequently visited by tourist and locals., restaurants on the beach. 20 minutes by car driving away from Panama City. Many guests recommend Pipas restaurant at the far end of this beach.
Palmar Beach– nice beach to take surfing classes (not the best swimming beach), restaurant on the beach. 7 minutes by car going toward Panama City. Entrance on the right-hand side across from Carlito’s pizza.
Closest Convenience Stores, Gas Station, Pharmacy, Hardware Store– Las Uvas turnoff to El Valle- mini super or Zaz convenience store at the Delta Gas Station- <5-minute drive, or a 25-minute walk
